I’m sure you have already heard about what components consist of and how the tattoo machine works. This time we decided to go further and make a homemade tattoo gun without a motor. To do this, we needed very little: a children’s toy with an electric motor, a guitar string, and a couple more simple details. So How To Make A Homemade Tattoo Gun? Lets star!
Equipment To Make A Homemade Tattoo Gun
- Tattoo ink
- Guitar string
- Ball pen.
- A piece of wine cork
- A toy with an electric motor
Homemade Tattoo Gun Assembly
Remove the rod from the handle and rinse it thoroughly.
Cut off the pen cap by two-thirds of the length.
Carefully remove the motor from the toy body. Please note that the final result will depend on the type of toy itself. In this case, we are making a non-standard version of a prison tattoo machine – while one hits the tattoo, the other holds the control panel and holds the desired button. What your version will be depends only on your imagination.
Secure the pen cap and the motor with electrical tape.
Cut off the ball-pen body and shaft one-third of the length. Then insert the body into the cap and insert the rod into it.
Cut off a small piece of cork from a wine bottle. Place the cut piece of cork tightly on the motor shaft.
Cut the guitar string to a length slightly more (centimeter and a half) than the length of the rod.
Insert a guitar string into the rod. Bend the back edge of the string and insert it into the plug as close as possible to the shaft axis. This will determine the oscillation range of the needle and, accordingly, the accuracy of the pattern.
When the motor is turned on, if everything is done correctly, the string will make translational movements. After assembling the tattoo gun, we of course decided to test it. We were satisfied with the result of the work. If you liked this post we would be grateful for sharing it on social media.
